At the end of the 18th (eighteenth) century in Britain industries began to develop, also improved transport in fact much more goods were exported. Thanks to the industrial revolution there were many more jobs and so people began to leave the countryside to move to the city. In 1837(one thousand eight hundred thirty-seven)victoria became queen and her husband in 1951(one thousand nine hundred fifty-one) and wanted to promote British trade and industry.

Alla fine del 18°(diciottesimo) secolo in gran Bretagna iniziarono a svilupparsi le industrie, migliorarono anche i trasporti infatti molta più merce veniva esportata. Grazie alla rivoluzione industriale ci furono molti posti di lavoro in più e quindi le persone iniziarono ad abbandonare le campagne per trasferirsi in città. Nel1837(mille ottocento trentasette)victoria divenne regina e suo marito nel 1951(mille novecento cinquantuno)e volevano promuovere il commercio e l'industria britannica.

Giovanni Verga nasce a Catania nel 1840 da una famiglia benestante di nobili origini.Stanco della vita di provincia, si trasferì aFirenze ma poi dal 1872 al 1893 si trasferì a milano,considerata la capitale della cultura dell'editoria.Nel 1874 scrisse Nedda, un racconto ambientato in Sicilia. Nel 1880 pubblicò la raccolta diracconti La vita nei campi, e l'anno successivo il suo capolavoro, il romanzo I Malavoglia.Queste opere ebbero un grande successo e Verga divenne un autore molto apprezzato dacritici letterari. un'opera molto importante di Verga du "Rosso malpelo".

Giovanni Verga was born in Catania in 1840 into a wealthy family of noble origins. Tired of provincial life, he moved to Florence but then from 1872 to 1893 he moved to Milan, considered the capital of publishing culture. In 1874 he wrote Nedda, a short story set in Sicily. In 1880 he published the collection ofshort stories Life in the fields, and the following year his masterpiece, the novel I Malavoglia.These works were a great success and Verga became a highly appreciated author much appreciated by literary critics. a very important work by Verga du "Rosso malpelo".
