GRASSROOT TRAINING PROGRAM BADMINTON

Badminton is like ballet dancing, it requires a lot of control, strength, mindplay and measured movement

Introduction

- For this program, we’re going to talk about the projectile motion of badminton and what is the best angle to hit the shuttle to get the best hit possible without hitting it outside the court.- Projectile motion is the force that acts upon an object that is released or thrown into the air. When the object is in the air it has two forces acting upon the time of release. Thus, it is important to know the concept of projectile motion for improving your skills in this sport, what to know and what to do.

PRINCIPLES OF PROJECTILE MOTION

-Trajectory

-Velocity

-Angle

-Air Resistance

HYPOTHESIS

- Assuming that the player is within the service zone in the middle of 3.96m, 1.98m. The distance of the court ranging of 13.4m and the weight of an average shuttlecock of 0.00474kg (4.74g). Hypothetically speaking, if we were to hit on a trajectory of 14m/s and an 80° angle, the shuttle cock would reach the attacker court or our target zone without reaching the net.

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN

rESULTS

- After some trials and errors, to reach our desired place to hit our shuttlecock, the max height we get is 1.91m. The max range we get in our trajectory is 3.21m, half the range to the max height is 1.60m. The trajectory is enough to reach the desired destination to where the shuttle cock is supposed to hit with the height of the net with 1.55 meters. This was done with the time ranged to 0.62 seconds.

Optimal Combination of Angle and Velocity

The results we get from the experimentation was accurate by using the right angle of 80 degrees as our final angle and a velocity of 14m/s to hit upwards and high enough to reach the max point of 9.69m.

training Program

To be a successful badminton player you also need to possess a variety of fitness capabilities such as; flexibility, speed, balance, agility, power and strength.

TRAINING PROGRAM

Sit and Reach

Shoulder Flexibility

TRAINING PROGRAM

Standing Long Jump

Hand Grip

CONCLUSION

-We conclude that Badminton is more than just an outdoor activity; it is the ultimate form of exercise. Badminton has numerous advantages. It improves an individual's overall fitness by strengthening muscles and burning fat.

-Allowed us to investigate projectile motion by determining the initial velocity given to the shuttlecock and ultimately predict the range of a projectile.
