1. Aimeseb- If I asked you to help please plan to be there the whole time and let your team teachers know if they will be impacted. 2. Meeting notices must be done correctly. If the general education teacher’s name is not in the list, we should put attendance in the PWN and note that the teacher’s name was missing (we are doing this anyway). This is a division/ state issue that hopefully they will resolve soon. 3. Please consider which SOL’s will happen in the life of the IEP and include them. Also please be cognizant of juniors and the fact that the writing SOL happens in March. 4. Make sure the students are in the meeting, unless, there is a good reason. 5. Course recommendation spread sheets are coming soon, please really look at the kiddos before recommending. You will be entering the name of the class this year not just an X. Consider the following: How are they doing? What support do they need? Will they actually be taking the class you are recommending? If not, should they be? Last but not least what does the IEP say?
In following with our yard sale theme, let’s think about collaboration with team teachers. If you are not teaming this year (use previous experience, if you are working with TA’s use that. The way you are doing it now, and considering the things we are hearing this year about real collaboration, what do we keep? What do we toss? What do we want to know more about, what are we concerned about (in general)? Save specific situations for another time.
