Faced with the loss of momentum of the hypermarket model, particularly in relation to the fall in sales in the non-food sector, the Saint-Etienne-based distributor has decided to change its shop base. It confided to La Tribune that no less than 20 Géant hypermarkets (out of 81) will thus change, in the coming weeks and on a national scale, to the Supermarché Casino brand. The menu includes a reallocation of surfaces in favour of food. Consumers now have new shopping habits and no longer necessarily want to do all their shopping, food and non-food, in one place.
