WHAT IS BADMINTON?

It is a racket sport .It is a sport that is based on two opponents separated by a net. They need to hit a shuttlecook and when it lands on a track, it is a point for the opposing player.

It was created in India. The first name was Poona, the name of the country. Some britishofficers, saw the game and brought to England around 1875. The first badminton club was formed in Bath, England in 1873. The game was introduced in the United States in 1890. In Spain the badminton appeared in the early 70's

Rules

  1. You have to hit the shuttlecook
  2. The shuttlecock needs to be hit by the racket
  3. The serve must be done below the waist and crossed.
  4. The match is played in 3 sets, the winner is the one who won 2 sets before.

MATERIALS

-Rackets: professional rackets are lighter weighting between 75 and 90 grams, while playing beginners rackets are between 100 and 115 grams.
