She didn't go to school until she was eight years old.
Her life
She was the first woman to work as a scientist for General Electric Laboratory .
She was the first woman to earn a Ph.D. in physics from Cambridge University.
Gardening, astronomy, antiques, theater, bridge, poems and volunteer work.
She lived many years in France when she was a child to become bilingual.
She was never married.
Her work
For this, she was granted eight US patents during her career.

Katharine Burr Blodgett was lucky not to have been touched by sexism or even racism : - No one contradicted that she studied science.- People were surprised at her excellent grades. - She obtained scholarships. - She always worked with men.
The obstacles she had encountered
Katharine Burr Blodgett is known in history for her work on the chemistry of surfaces and in particular for her invention of "invisible" or non-reflecting glass.It was used for projectors, cameras, underwater periscopes and aircraft cameras.
