Captain James Cook a British navigator, cartographer and explorer sailed along and mapped the east coast, which he named "New South Wales" and claimed for Great Britain.

Nobody wanted to live in Australia
Why ?
Because it was too hot, too far away, too dangerous and too wild
So ?
So the king decided that the convict would go to Australia.But when they ended their sentence, they didn't go back to Great Britain because the trip was too expensive so they settled down in Australia. This is how Australia was populated

- They are dark-skinned, they lived in Australia for 50 000 years cut off from the rest of the world.
- They mainly speak their own language but some know English.
- They have no territory because the have no sens of property.
- They worship Nature

is a big rock in the middle of the outback.The Aboriginal people worship it and they drew in the caves.

- The Great Barriere Reef is in Queensland. It is situated on the north east coast of Australia.
- The Great Barriere Reef is protected, you can't put sun cream and go swim and you can't fish there.

- The Sydney Opera House is situated in the harbour.
- It was built in 1973,50 years ago.
- It look like a shark fin or the sails of a ship.
- The Sydney Opera House represents Modern Australia

- Black – represents the skin tone of the Aboriginal people of Australia
- Yellow circle – represents the Sun
- Red – representing the red earth of Australia
