The Story of Our Game
Anidonia is an open world game, where you will incarn an anhedoniac character. Your main goal will be to save your parents from the goddess Nemesis who is keeping them prisoners. To defeat Nemesis, you will have to go through multiple temples, each one representing an emotion or a feeling, to collect artefacts that will help you in your fight against Nemesis. You could try do fight her with only a few artefatcs, but you will fail. It's essential to collect all the artefacts. Be careful of your actions in the game, Anidonia has multiple endings and you might not save your parents !
Characters of Anidonia
The character you will incarn is anhedoniac, that means that he can't feel emotions and doesn't have feelings. However, he still wants to save his parents, that's why he started this long journey to rescue them. Nemesis is a really powerful goddess. She represents anger, but behind her mask of anger, hide a suffering soul. She is broken inside. After your last fight, she will disappear, relieved and no longer in pain. Aside from these two characters, there will be npc (nonplayable characters) across the map, on villages.
Places and Landsacpes in Anidonia
The game takes place in ancient Greece. You will have to travel on the world of Anidonia and solve enigmas to find all the temples, as they are not indicated on the map. Each one of the temples will represent one emotion or feeling, such as fear, culpability, disgust, sadness, anger or joy. As you wander across the world map, you will see beautiful and stunning landscapes, representing those in Greece in Ancient Times.
Meaning of the Name Anidonia
Aνηδονία , anidonia comes from "an" which means "without" and from "hêdonê" which means "pleasure". Anidonia in greek is like anhedonia in english, so it's all about not being able to feel emotions. But in our game, the player will feel a lot of strongs emotions as he goes further in the story, which creates a bit of contrast.
Soundtracks and Style of the Game
The soundtrack of our game is quite peaceful and calming, but not in the temples, where musics adapt to the emotion represented. The style of Anidonia is quite stunning with realistic enough landscapes. There are also cycles, the weather changes and days and nights alternate.
Who Can Play at Anidonia ?
Our game can be played by anyone above 13 years old, as long as they want to hop on a veritable adventure ! Anidonia will be displayed in all countries around the world on July 2023, and will be playable on computers, Xbox, Playsations and on Switch.
