First Wave of migration

The indigenous people came from Monogolia and Siberia across the berinf strait to come into the caribbean. Most importantly, the tainos introduced the barter system of production.

This system includes crop formation of potato, corn , casava etc.

However, the Tainos were opressed by the Kalinagos.

Tainos migrated to the lesser to greater Antilles ( Jamaica, Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico)

Scarificed to make pathway for Kalinagos to go to coyuba thus gaining their energy, as well as raise thier rank in the village

Second Wave of Migration

The Europeans, mainly spain came to the Caribbean lead by Chisterphor Columbus. They brought in the system of production known as the Encomienda System where every indegenous person over the age of 14 had to supply gold and cotton to the Europeans, In return the indigenous people would be Chrisanised and taught to be Civilied( learning spanish, wear spanish garments

The indigenous persons who didn't meet the terms of Encomienda system severely punished my feeding their childrean fed to dog , lumps cut off.

tHird Wave Of MIgration

Cultivation of crops for exportation.Enslaved who were unpaid labour was used on the plantations.Between 1600's and 1800's overthree million Africans were brought to the Indies in response to the sugar revolution. It impacted on land tenure, land prices, new " farming practices, population size and structure. Lives of the enslaved were controlled by authority figures( Dictatership) The Africans were oppessed by Europeans(Dutch)

Indentureship system: labourers signed contracts in return for passage and subsistence.At the end of the contract the servants were free to remain or return home.The scope became more extensive after emancipation when Asians (Indians and Chinese) were recruited to work on plantations.
