Mickey Mouse

ONCE

UPON A TIME

Mickey Mouse is a comic and cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, and developed by Floyd Gottfredson, one of the most famous cartoonists in the world. The character was born under the name Mortimer, which according to Walt Disney’s wife was horrible for a mouse; so Walt decided to change it to Mickey Mouse. His inspiration was a pet mouse who often went to his office. In 1928, Walt Disney lost the rights to his first hit character. So he created the first Mickey Mouse film. He then produced the second film where Minnie appears as the female lead of which he is in love. The character's film debut was on November 18, 1928 in the film Steamboat Willie; and this film was the third of six Disney films. Two years later he appeared in comics with the story of Mickey Mouse on the mysterious island. Walt Disney won an Oscar for this creation. Mickey is a mouse who wears red pants, large yellow shoes and white gloves. He usually has luck, when he is in the company of his best friends Donald and Goofy, the three often end the day by combining a disaster and all three are the cause. Many cartoons begin with Mickey and Minnie enjoying each other’s company until a villain kidnaps her and takes her away, so Mickey has to save her.
