Oil covers birds' wings and makes them unable to fly, oil has toxic chemicals whihc poison the wildlife. It can also take away insulating properties of animal fur and lead to hypothermia.

Oil spills are common and thousands can occur each year. Spills can occur in oceans, lakes, or on shore which is harmful to the plants and animals that live there.

Avoid overfueling oil tanks, check equeptment for leaks, useoil filters, and follow all guildlines for transporting oil.

It is costly and requires a lot of first responders to clean up spills. It can shut down fishing areas or cause a public evacuation to avoid the contaminated water.
