Introduction

My name is Luz Marina Gelvez, I am 56 years old, I am from the city of Bucaramanga, one of my dreams was to live in Bogota, by the way I have lived for about thirty three years in this city. I am married, I have two daughters and two sons and I am also a grandmother of three beautiful grandchildren and I spend my vacations with them. I have been a housewife for the last three years after working in graphic arts for twenty years. Right now, I am studying Public Accounting. I have not finished yet, I am in my fifth semester. In my free time I like to exercise. I love to run and I have just started practicing to run the half marathon of Bogota and I haven't told my husband or my children yet, it's a secret. I have watched documentaries and series in English on Nexflix with Spanish subtitles.

Well for this segment I will continue with my story and for that it is necessary to tell you about my goals: I will graduate as a public accountant the first semester of the year 2025 and I will be dancing with the happiness of being able to share the triumph with my family. Then I told them that one of my passions is running, the second goal in two years I will be running the half marathon of Bogota, I told my family the secret that I am preparing to run and they will be supporting me for what I need. Another goal, I am going to travel to England in August this year to visit my daughter who is studying at Manchester University. In two years, I will probably be working as a public accountant in in a family school. The next goal is to spend the next vacations with my family, the idea is to meet at my eldest daughter's house who lives in the outskirts of Bogota, there we will pray the Christmas novena, my grandchildren love to sing Christmas carols, eat custard and fritters, but what they expect are the gifts that Santa Claus or the child God will bring. We will be together until January 7, then we will continue with our commitments, the truth is there is nothing better than being with family.

From the beginning I told you about my short- and medium-term goals, now I would like to explain several long-term goals, one of them is that when my husband retires with him, we will have bought a big house in the countryside, then by the year 2029 my children with their families will have planned to spend their vacations, guess where?As I will have been working as an independent tax auditor with more than 5 years of experience, I will have handled accounts in the graphic arts sector and other business accounts. Another goal, I want to go to Europe again in the year 2031, by the time I celebrate 40 years of marriage with my husband, we will have traveled the Mediterranean on a cruise to celebrate our wedding anniversary, I will have seen wonderful islands and tasted exotic food. Other goals for the year 2032 are to have written stories for my grandchildren, take time to visit my children who live outside the country more often, and of course have a good glass of wine with friends, enjoy the small and big things that God has given me. I also dream of seeing my country Colombia prosperous and in peace where people from other countries come to know this paradise with tranquility.

Introduction

My name is Edgar Giovany Portes Segura and I am 43 years old. I am from La Mesa, Cundinamarca, but I have been living in Bogotá for over 20 years. I work as a security supervisor for the international organization Sanitas. I am currently a fifth-semester student of Public Accounting. I live in the Bonanza neighborhood of Bogotá with my wife and two daughters. One of my achievements is starting my studies again after such a long time. It has been difficult because of the use of technology and the fact that it is virtual. It took me a long time to adapt to the platform, especially since I had not studied for over 10 years. However, thanks to God and with the support of my family, I have successfully completed these four semesters with very good grades. Another achievement is the promotion I received about 4 years ago, which was very good because it improved my economic stability and that of my family.

explaining your future mid-term

My goals for the future will involve completing the remaining four semesters of my degree in Public Accounting while continuously learning everything there is to know about this beautiful profession and striving for the best grades in all of my subjects. After graduation, I will pursue a specialization in either audit or forensic audit, both of which I find very interesting. Upon completing the specialization, I will aim to work independently by establishing my own auditing firm or possibly be continuously applying for a position in the financial management of Sanitas International organization. I will carefully consider my options, as I believe my profession offers me the opportunity to perform both jobs simultaneously. Another dream of mine will be to travel. First, I would like to explore parts of Colombia that I have yet to visit, such as the Amazon and Choco regions. Once I have seen most of my country, I will travel abroad and visit Peru, primarily for its world-renowned cuisine. I will embark on these trips with my family, so they can also enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of our beautiful Colombia.

Your long-term goals

My goals for the future are after managing to make the company specialized in audits that this company has stability, I would like to be able to generate employment and thus.I have help my fellow accountants and be able to obtain the resources, I will have created a foundation to provide support to disadvantaged children economic both for study and education, at the job level in the international Sanitas organization, getting to direct the financial management giving my personal touch would be a great achievement for me, of course, in order to achieve this achievement I Will have prepared myself very well by studying and I will do a doctorate in administrative sciences which I was able to consolidate in the knowledge of the career and have good management in the company due to this having economic stability which I will have served my family so that they can also fulfill their dreams and have the opportunity to live them if they want to settle in another country and study would be a good alternative for them As, I will have a good savings for the future to settle in a quieter city away from the traffic jams that have the opportunity to wake up every morning with fresh air and without the stress that the city brings us and live in it.

My current achievements

Hi everyone, let me introduce myself, my name is Maria Helena Marquez Araque, I am 30 years old, I grew up in Sogamoso Boyacá where I attended school, After high school. I studied to become nurse, my interest has included photography, movies and music. I have enjoyed making things out like walking or travel some cute places, it was not easy for me to make friends because I was shy and quiet. It wasn’t until after nurse´s graduation when I started working at National police that my relationships with others changed for the better. Well, a little more about me, I have been single since a long time, but I have a beautiful daughter, she is eight, I like ride bicycle with my daughter, usually at weekends, we have get out somewhere where we can ride freely, I am a police officer since 2016, I have worked in traffic and transport for a couple years, it means, I care for all of the drivers in the highways, about my college I am in fifth semester.

My Mid-term goals

¿Where I will be in five years? well I think, it is an easy question, because of my career goals, I hope get my engineer degree, my career aspirations will develop my skills to be in the next step in the ladder, I think study something is going to carry me far away, it is not only about me but my daughter, because she is going to see a good example for her life. Hence, in five years I truly believe my experience in my job will allow me to learn new skills and grow within position, traveling new places, may be meet new people and so on and on. Over the next five years, I will see myself taking a new and exciting project; perhaps, for a management role as owner in my company, I am going to save money to buy an apartment and I will see my daughter in her own bedroom, I imagine her face in happiness, all of wishes make me laugh, because I had never thought about it, ok my expectations over fiver years in my future, maybe I will be going to Europe, I am going to buy my car, but truly I won´t be falling in love, I am sure.

It is not easy to think about over 10 years in the future, it is a long time, I think 10 years has been all of a life; by the time, I will have gotten my retirement from my current job, I will have develop my skills to be a good mother and wise to give advices for her, I will have finished my studies and maybe I will have got a PHD degree, and I will be proud for myself, not just to achive my dreams but my legacy I will have left for my daughter, becasue she is going to see a good example for her life. Hence, in ten years I truly believe my experience in my job will have allowed me to learn new skills and growing as person, traveling new places, may be I will have met new people and so on and on. Over the next ten years, I will have seen myself taking a new and exciting project; perhaps, for a adviser role in any company, I will have saved money to pay daughter´s studies, well, more about me, I will have travelled throuh Europe, I will have bought my car, and finally, I will have fallen in love, I am sure.

Hi there,My name is José Alejandro Vargas Rubio, I am accounting public student and I am working as salesman. I’ve been lived in Bogota whole my life. I have 2 childrens, Alejandro, 29, he is a Neurosurgeon he has studied medicine for long time and continue… My youngest son is Juan Felipe and he is medicine student too. He has not chosen other career and follow the steps of his brother: study and study and study…and so on. This is one of my highest achivements. I’ve been worked hard to give my childrens the resources that allow to achieve their goals. I enjoy travel and see soccer games. I want to travel to India. I’ve never been there before. As salesman, my achievements are the budget compliance and the develop the marketing strategies to obtain market share with lowest possible cost. The competence is hard. They’ve never tired to attack us, but I’ve been prepared to develop a good job.

As you know, once of my hobbies is to see soccer games. I am going to travel U.K. to see Liverpool game against Manchester City. I hope Liverpool will win the game. To do this travel will be amazing. Once I am in U.K. I will be visiting the Buckingham Palace and enjoy the gardens and the amazing changing of the guard with the tipical british soldiers. I will be tasting the typical street food called “fish and fries” that is fish with fries potatos and of course I will be drinking beer. I will travel with my youngest son and I hope enjoy this travel. In my mid-term goal, I am going to finish my career as public accounting and I think will work in this subject in the company that I work. To be public accounting is to have great responsibility. Is to have clear the rules and normatives to apply the knowlegde inside the company. For that I will be studying continuosly in order to stay updated with the standards and laws. The other hand I will start with the physical activity, I will walk and play tennis and I am goin to start a kitchen course with emphasis in italian food.

Talk about the future is an optimistic exercise, therefore I try to tell you which are my plans in terms of 10 years. First of all, I will have founded my own company. My plans about that are in two directions: first, sales. Sales industrial products like motors, transformers, cables and electrical control devices as well as my accounting office in particular to assist small companies. In order to develop the company it is very important the cooperation with overseas manufacturers so I will have learnt English to stablish an adequate contact with them. Also for my accounting office I will have developed an easy system to support the activity in small companies. Second, in terms of my personal life, I will have traveled across India, Vietnam and Singapur. I will have lived in Barranquilla because this city is a quiet and funny site. Regarding my hobby, I will have been in a Fifa World Cup and I will have seen goods matches and I will have enjoyed the food and the ambient. In addition to this proposes, I will have read a lot of books like novels written by Gunter Grass, Umberto Eco and poeltry and finally I will have had my little italian restaurant.
