The More Knowledgeable Other demonstrates the knowledge for the learner
Mastery
The learner works with the MKO through the task, skill, knowledge, etc.
Support and assistance are decreased or removed, allowing the learner to work through the task with increasing independence
The learner has assimilated the knowledge and is able to "teach" it back to the MKO or to assist other learners in working through their own ZPD
Assistance is reduced as skill and knowledge increase
