I.) Abnormalities of the head and facial area, resulting in a distinctive facial appearance II.) Immunodeficiency: Because of antibody deficiency and/or impaired T-cell function, recurrent infections (chronic ear infections, chronic viral respiratory infections, and pneumonia) can affect a variable percentage of individuals affected by CdLS. III.) Growth restriction. At birth, they present their weight is often less than 2.2 kg (4.9 lbs). As the children grow older, they often continue to have delayed growth- smaller in size and weight than most IV.) Neurodevelopmental: Children may have global developmental delays, along with intellectual disability
What is Cornelia De Lange syndrome?- CdLS is a genetic condition present at birth (generally); it's charcterizied by numerous physical, intellectual and behavioral differences.

I.) Malformations of the arms & hands- Take into consideration activites that use their arms/hands II.) Myopia (nearsighted)- Give visual directions/pictures/etc. close to the student III.) Difficulty hearing- Visual instructions/demonstrations IV.) Smaller in size & height- Be aware of other students during activty
I.) Rule changes: larger objects to throw/catch for acitvitys/lessons focusing on catching/thowing II.) When using objects to throw and/or catch, stand close using a bright colored ball III.) Simplified Instruction: When giving directions- use both visual & audiotory methods IV.) Less intense activites due to size and height V.) Various forms of verbal & non-verbal communication methods: gestures, simple signs, print/Braille, facial expression, symbols, and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System); in addition to speech and sign language- can be used during delivering instruction and through activity VI.) Determine the communication bubble! [The communication bubble includes how far out and how well a child sees and how far out and how well a child hears. It also needs to take into account things like lighting, ambient noise and other factors.

Effective Teaching Strategy
Creating the appropriate learning enviornment: Calm, well organized environments are most effective. Establishing a well organized routine will be very beneficial to these students. It will help them with transitions throughout the duration of physical education classes.
