THE HOUSE

The life in the '80s was simple and relaxed but today's not. The houses were minimal and the dominant colors were pastel and lite colors. In the '80s was rare to have 2 tvs, on those there weren't many cartoons , from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. you could find them but they were boring and the episodes were on tv once and you couldn't save them.

02

THE FOOD

The food was less elaborate then now . You just needed a few ingredients. There was not much choice and the food was much lighter and healthier. The cakes were often homemade by mothers for a snack or breakfast.

The apple cake was often made by moms and grandmoms, it's simple to bake one of them, you have to: melt the butter, grate a lemon, peel and chop 930g of apples, mix: apples; lemon juice; flour; baking powder, four eggs and pour the sugar a litle a time, then pour 1,5 cups of milk, finally add the apples that we chopped and mix it together. The cake is ready to be baked in a temperature of 350°F (180°C) for around 55 minutes.

03

THE SCHOOL

Many notebooks and fewer books were used at school than now, homework assignments had to be written in the diary and the teachers were much stricter than now

THE CLOTHES

The dresses that were for girls were almost always elegant and skirts were used much more. For girls, the shoulders of the jackets were padded, jeans and "pop swatches" (a cute type of swatch) were also in fashion.

POP SWATCHS

THE TECHNOLOGY

The Walkman was used to listen to music everywhere but they ran on batteries so you had to be careful not to let them run out. Where there were arcades, it was nice to get together with friends and challenge each other on cabin video games, but each game cost a minimum of 200-500 lire

THE TRASPORTS

In 1980s all the teenagers were used to walk a lot and used to ride bikes a lot too,and the luckiest teenagers had a moped. In the 80s the cars were less elaborate and seat belts are starting to be fitted and used
