Lesson Plan

Developmentally appropriate instruction
Developmentally appropriate instruction
Instructional strategies used when answering a question using R.A.C.E. strategy: whole group instruction, small group instruction, pair and share, visuals, digital technology, and an end of the lesson assessment. Differentitation is provided through instruction for all students in the classroom. ELL and struggling students have vocabulary and visual aids. Early finishers and gifted students are provided with additional instruction. Kinesthetic learners are provided with movement through the classroom. Auditory/ visual learners are provided with digital technology.

student strenghs, interests, and needs
Student strenghs, interests, and needs
Students strengths, interests, and needs will be met through differentiated levels of scaffolding. This scaffolding will help my students feel successful when completing a R.A.C.E. paragraph. Differentiation in the lesson plan will help reach the needs of ELL students, struggling students, early finishers, and gifted students.
+ info
Differentiation is how educators tailor their instruction to best meet the needs of their students, ultimately guiding every learner to the same destination (Tucker, n.d.).
Assessment data
Assessment data
Assessment data helps the educator know where their students stand. This is a time for students to display their knowledge independently. This could result in reteaching information, moving forward, or even creating leveled grouping. Understanding student mastery of a lesson can help eductors identify learning gaps, determine future instuction, and even view their effectiveness of the lesson taught (Truckee Meadows Community College, 2023.)

Demonstrate learning
Demonstrate learning
Opportunities are created for students to demonstrate their learningin many different ways throughout this lesson plan. Formal and summative assessments can help determine performance goals. Students also have the opportunity to take part in discussions and peer interactions when completeing this lesson. Examples: Google docs, completeing anchor charts, answering question correctly using R.A.C.E.

Funds of Knowledge
Funds of Knowledge
Edcuators can use funds of knowledge to activate background knowledge and build connections to the content. When discussing the passages read in class, I will relate the content to my students lives. The information being introduced is relatable to my students and families. Meeting all students diverse learning needs by incorporating their culture and interests into the lesson can help students retain information and make connections. Relating content to authentic life experiences will enhance learning in the classroom (Bennett, 2020).

Technology
Technology
Technology can help differentiate instruction within the classroom. Students can be assigned different material along with different graphic organizers or information. This is a descreat way for students to review the help they need without it being known to their peers. Technology is also a great resource educators can use to assess their students knowledge. It can provide immediate feedback and data that will help the educator assess their students knowledge.
