Introduction
The student will describe the characters, settings, or events by using illustrations and details from a story.
Nearpod
I will be using Nearpod to teach my class lesson about describing things from a book. Nearpod allows me to share my lessons with my students, while also incorporating questions and sentences to make them think about what we are covering. On my screen will be the lesson and the questions for me to ask them, and on their screens will be the lesson and the space for them to answer the questions that I am asking them.
I will read the book The Cat In The Hat to my students. While I am reading, I will stop and ask my students the questions on my nearpod lesson for that day. The students will answer the questions as I ask them. I will comtinue reading the book and asking questions until the story is over. After I have finished reading and the students are done answering questions, I will have my students draw me a picture of one of the characters from the book.
Step-by-step
Activities for students
I will allow my students to draw a picture of their favorite character from the book or to describe their favorite character from the book after we have done our lesson.
