Discover the resources
Sign in and search with your local profile or in all libraries with the swisscovery profile.
Please note: depending on the institution, there might be different search profiles present and not all request options might be available.

The local profile offers print and online resources from your institution. In the swisscovery profile you will find print and online resources from all swisscovery libraries. The swisscovery plus profile offers additional resources from the Renouvaud network and online resources where you might not have full-text access.

Pick up on site
The «Pick up on site» section allows you to request documents directly in the library where they are owned and to pick them up there at no cost. The library owning the document will put it aside for you and send you a notification when it is ready to be picked up at their circulation desk.
Additionally, there is also the section «Pick up on site at other libraries» which allows you to request physical items from libraries outside your institution in the same manner.

Local Courier
The institutions Region Zentralschweiz, Universität St.Gallen, UZH und ZB Zürich, Region Basel, PH – HEP, Universität und PH Bern, ETH Zürich and HES-SO offer a local courier to transport documents between different libraries of their institution. For this, select "Loan" and then choose your Pickup Location.
For all other institutions, choose the further request options described on the next pages for requests to local Pickup Locations as well as all other locations.

The «Further request options» section offers three different services :
- Courier
- Postal delivery
- Digitization
It also offers reservations for currently unavailable items. Costs and conditions that apply on requests placed in this section are displayed before you place a request.

The first time you use this section, please click on «Select location» and select your preferred library or postal address. After that, your selection will be saved.

To request the courier delivery of a document from one library to another, select a library and click on "Request".

If you wish to have a physical document sent to your home or work address, select the option in the location field. To do so, swisscovery will use the addresses stored in your profile. Please note, postal delivery is priced at 12.- per document.

When the document is already on loan, the “Further Request Options” section will show that there are no available copies. To place a reservation, simply click on the “Reservation” button to place the request. Once the item is ready for pickup you will be informed. Please note that when requesting unavailable documents, no delivery time estimation can be given since it is unknown when the document will be available. Fees may apply for reservation requests

Further request options : Digitization
Parts of documents can be digitized and sent to your e-mail address. Click on the “Request” button to request the partial digitization of a document. The maximum amount of pages for this is 50.
