Liverpool Football Club is an English football club based in Liverpool; plays in the Premier League, of which it was one of the founders, and is affiliated with the Football Association. Founded in 1892, it joined the Football League a year later and has played home matches at Anfield stadium since its foundation. From the second half of the 1970s to the first half of the 1980s it established itself as one of the hegemonic teams in European football under the guidance of coach Bob Paisley. He has been playing in red since 1964, after using a red shirt and white shorts. He has played in the English top flight since 1962.
