Book Assessment

The three main characters Michael, Bryson, and Sarah are three talented hackers programmed to track down a cyber-terrorist whose name is Kaine. He has been trapping people inside this game and killing them. They have to go on “dangerous missions” through the game to find Kaine and destroy the evil he has been creating. After a series of obstacles, the three teens finally defeat Kaine and bring justice to the people.

Summary

The theme of “The Eye of Minds,” by James Dasher, is to trust in yourself. I think this because, since the book takes place in a video game, the three teens don't know what is real and what is fake. So, the main characters had to trust in themselves and their instincts about what was right and wrong.

Theme

Michael is the main character, and he is brilliant and takes on the responsibility of the leader throughout the book. I think this because, throughout the book, when the three teens were chasing the murderer, Michael always figured out a way to conquer them or he would put himself in danger, in order to protect his friends.

Characterization

The turning point in the eye of minds is when the three main characters find out a tangent (computer-generated character) named Kaine was going against what they were trying to defeat. I categorized it as this plot point because it changed the mindset of the main character on how to defeat the creator of the game they are stuck in.

Plot

A symbol that represents this book, is a robot designed to be the perfect human being. I think this because the game was created to have perfect people that have the perfect emotions so no problems are made in this society, and everything is how the programmers wanted it.
