Evaluation: CO

Final task: Deliver a speech

1. MIND THE GENDER GAP

Analyze this poster with your neighbor.
  • Student on the left: the left side of the poster
  • Student on the right: the opposide side of the poster
Then, exchange information and work together to write a paragraph that sums up this poster.

Grammar in progress: La forme interrogative

La forme interrogative se construit différemment si le verbe est un auxiliaire (be, have, will, can...) ou un verbe ordinaire.

Si le verbe est un auxiliaire, l'interrogation se construit sans l'auxiliaire do/does/did :

  • Is she a feminist?
  • Can I join the women's right movement?
  • Have you ever heard of The Declaration of Sentiments?
Si le verbe est ordinaire, l'interrogation se construit avec l'auxiliaire do/does/did. Comme toujours après un auxiliaire, le verbe est alors à l'infinitif sans to :
  • Did you like that women's rights film?
  • Do you want to see this new feminist movie?
  • Does Samantha want to break the glass ceiling?
Enfin, les questions commencant par WH- se construsent de manière suivante : Wh- ou How + auxiliaire + sujet + verbe + (objet)? Ex: When did Wyoming make it legal for women to vote?

2. The Declaration of sentiments

What is the historical context? What is the message conveyed?
