JOB DESCRIPTION

Physical therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapists diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to people at the end of life. Many patients have injuries, disabilities, or other health conditions that need treatment. Physical therapists examine each person and then develops a treatment plan to improve their ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability.

Earn your bachelor’s degree: To become a physical therapist, you must earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, so the first step to becoming a licensed physical therapist is to earn your bachelor’s degree. 2. Choose a DPT program: After you’ve earned a bachelor’s degree or met the other requirements, you can apply for a Doctor of Physical Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). 3. Graduate from your DPT program and pass the NPTE: This test is a necessary step to obtaining your physical therapy license. According to the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, the test measures basic entry-level competence after graduation from an accredited or equivalent non-accredited program.

4. Pass your state's licensure exam: To practice in a state, you must pass a state licensure exam to receive your physical therapist license. 5. Complete a residency or earn board certification (optional): Many physical therapists also choose to complete a residency training or earn board certification. 6. Apply for PT jobs: With the degree and license, you can now apply for physical therapy jobs or choose to open your own practice. Physical therapists work in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, athletic training centers, and schools.

I chose this career because being an athlete I know the important role that a physical therapist plays in the life of an athlete or any person because they help us to get out of any injury or any disability we have, besides that they can also help us to strengthen any physical weakness we have. It is a very nice career because it helps people to have a better well-being and even save lives.

which career do i prefer?

I prefer Physical Therapy because I feel that I help people more and I consider it a very nice career because I will be there and help in the recovery process of a person. Besides, my physical therapist has helped me a lot to not get injured and to treat my injuries and I have realized that I want to do that with other people and help them to have a better wellbeing.
