My research question was “What is art therapy and how does it help heal mental health issues?” At first i wanted my project to be about miscommunication and interpretation but it wasn’t specific enough to draw information from, so then I thought about art therapy and how they use interpretations of images sometimes to help figure out what mental quirks somebody has and it was easy to come up with a question after that

Finding #1
“The art can act as a container to hold an emotion or an experience. It allows for a tangible thing to talk about and describe. Looking at the product can offer reflective distance and enables new possibilities and perspectives to be explored. “ - cara levitt
Finding #2
“Because art therapy allows people to express feelings on any subject through creative work rather than with speech, it is believed to be particularly helpful for those who feel out of touch with their emotions or feelings. Individuals experiencing difficulty discussing or remembering painful experiences may also find art therapy especially beneficial. “ -good therapy
Finding #3
"Specifically, it focuses on capturing psychodynamic processes by means of “inner pictures,” which become visible by the creative process (Steinbauer et al., 1999). These pictures reflect the psychopathology of different psychiatric disorders and even their corresponding therapeutic process based on specific rules and criterion (Steinbauer and Taucher, 2001). It has been gradually recognized and used as an alternative treatment for therapeutic processes within psychiatric and psychological specialties, as well as medical and neurology-based scientific audiences “ -pubmed central
