Rachel zimmerman
She invented the "Blissymbol Printer" in 1984, this is for people with physical disabilities to communicate.
Rachel Zimmerman Brachman was born in Canada in 1972 . She is a space scientist and inventor.
02. Invention
In the 1980s, when she had twelve years old, she developed an invention that helped people who have difficulty communicating. She created a software program using symbols that enable non-speaking people, with severe physical disabilities, to communicate.

The program user communicates by symbols on a page or board with a special touch pad. When the user touches the symbols, this translates them into a written language. In this way, the user can record his or her thoughts or communicate via e-mail.

Her project started as a science project for school, but it competed at the World Exhibition and winning a silver medal at the Canada contest.

Rachel Zimmerman studied physic and space in college and now works for The Planetary Society in California, where she teaches people about space exploration.
05.her goals
Her goal is to take NASA innovations and tailor them to fit the needs of people with disabilities.
