What is GCEd?
GCED is the process of learning how to understand diverse people and cultures and live together in an interconnected and sustainable world. (UNESCO, 2015)
Furthermore....
GCED is a strategy to help youth access opportunities as well as navigate the challenges presented by this diverse and interconnected world of increasingly porous borders.
Key findings
- All 9 attributes are adequately made explicit in the curriculum competency and learning outcome statements from grades PP-XII.
- Alternative learner-centered assessment practices are key in the curriculum but inadequate in classroom practices
