CSR: companies' contribution to sustainable development

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to the responsibility of companies regarding the impacts of their decisions and activities on society and the environment, through:

  • transparent and ethical behavior;
  • the identification of environmental and societal impacts, wether positive or negative;
  • and their consideration by companies in: their offers, their business models, their projects and decisions and finally, their brand identities.
CSR can therefore be defined as the contribution of companies to sustainable development.

Impacts are real or assumed, positive or negative

CSR is based on the three main principles of sustainable development. Roll-over the pictograms to learn more about them.
