You know of some great graphic organizers that you could use to help support the writing instuction in class. As you prepare you think that you can either prepare the graphic organizers for specific students in class or offer the graphic organizers to everyone.

Great option! If you offer to everyone, they have the opportunity to have support in their writing as well. Now, this idea gets your mind racing. What about how to assess the information you are learning about? You are offering a graphic organizer. Should you offer an essay to everyone or try out a choice board with different writing options?

Choice boards are great at meeting the needs of all students so they can feel confident in the way they show their understanding. Just be sure to keep the options focused on writing if that is the main objective for learning.
