  • Instructional Designer

HI!

My name is Rachael Smith and I have worked in the public service sector for seventeen years.

I have taught advanced theory, introductory justice, law, and ethics courses since earning my Masters' from ASU in 2008. My lens is a sociological perspective, with an eye towards subcultural deviancies and critical legal issues related to race and ethnicity, disability discrimination, environmental conservationism, and unequal wealth and power distribution. I rely on the SAM-2 instructional design model, like using Gantt charts and spreadsheets in project management. I also like brainstorming and working with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and peers as constructive feedback loops in an iterative curriculum writing and course design process.
