Historical Entreprenurial Venture: Apple
Apple was started in 1976 by Steven Woniak and Steve Jobs. Both of these men wanted computers that you could hold in your hand or have easily accessible in your home or office which led to the creation of Apple.
1976
Apple makes it's first product - Apple computer 1
The Apple computer 1 was created in the hopes of making a computer that was more user friendly and easy to use for the average person. It came with a complete circuit board.
1984
Apple releases the Macintosh
The Macintosh was the next big product for the company, as it was sold with a 9in screen, a keyboard, and a mouse and was the first mass-market personal computer. It gave birth to the "Mac" Computer.
2001
Apple releases the iPod
Apple relased the iPod which ended up becoming a major hit because people could now play over 1,000 songs with a simple device in their pocket.
2007
Apple releases the iPhone
Again, Apple was targeting the pain point of needing something hand-held that was like a computer. The iPhone satisfied this pain point and launched the business through it's massive data storage and touch screen features.
Apple reflects the concepts covered in our class. Want to know how?
Apple began over the pain point that there were no devices small enough and portable enough to be able to quickly connect to the internet and recieve information at your fingertips. Steve Jobs and Steve Woniack reflect the values of an entreprenuer because they identified a pain point, and then began trying to solve it. They fearlessly produced items that had never been seen on the market, making their risk of failure large. However, they continued to identiy pain points and listened to consumers, allowing them to produce a billion-dollar business that is still famous today in 2023, when it was started in 1976! Apple and it's founders are the perfect representation of entreprenurial thinkers as they have evolved with their market. As an entreprenuer, you have to be flexible and open-minded -- which is a HUGE takeaway from this class.
