HILDEGART RODRÍGUEZ

She was born on 9th of october 1914 in Madrid, where she lives all her short live.She was a very inteligent girl such an extent that she was considerared a prodigy child. During the pregnancy, her mom Aurora Rodríguez performed some techniques to make her dughter more intelective.

She estudied a lot on her live

Her mom gave her her firsts studies. She learned very fast, so at three years she was able to talk, reed and write and, at eight years old she mastered three languages: english, french and german, and obviously the Spanish. She finishes the highschool at the age of 14, at age that she entered in the law University. She finishes her studies at only 17 years old.

She achived a lot of things

While she was studying law, she collaborated with a lot of magazines publishing articles and she entered in contact with personalities of the political and literary worlds, like Julián Besteiro in the political world and George Orwell in the literary world. With 14 years old she entered in the Society of Various Offices of the General Union of Workers of Spain, entering in the socialist youth and being named vice-president of the national federation of socialist youth a year later. Disagreements with her political party make her departure in the middle of 1932 and her next entry into the Federal Party. Also in 1932 she and her mother founded the Spanish League for Sexual Reform on Scientific Bases, an institution that defended a sexual education based on knowledge of sexual biology without theological or ecclesiastical influences.

How does she died?

Her mother, Aurora Rodríguez, murdered her on June 8, 1933, when Hildegart was just 18 years old. As reasons, her mother had disagreements with her and that the young Hildegart had more and more visible autonomy. I find it quite inhuman but each to their own.

Despite her short life, she left an important bibliographical and intellectual legacy. She was a great defender of contraceptives, of freedom in love, of scientifically-based sexual education, of all kinds of relationships and of equality between men and women, quite modern ideas for her time.
