Location
Canada occupies most of the northern part of North America. The country is bounded by the North Atlantic Ocean on the east, the North Pacific Ocean on the west, and the Arctic Ocean on the north.
It borders Alaska (USA) in the west, and twelve US states of the continental part of the United States in the south.
Geographic characteristics
The Surface of Canada has: 9,984,670 km2 Limits: It is located at the extreme north of the American continent. It borders the United States to the south, the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Pacific Ocean and the United States (Alaska) to the west.
Division
Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories: Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon.
Wheater
In many parts of the world, Canada is associated with snow and extremely cold weather. Indeed, although it varies from one region to another and from one season to another, all regions enjoy several winter months and low temperatures.
Environmental problems
Natural disadvantages
The permafrost in the north constitutes a serious obstacle to development. Cyclonic storms in the eastern Rocky Mountains are the result of mixing of air masses from the Arctic, Pacific, and inland regions of North America and produce most of the country's precipitation and snowfall.
Air pollution and the resulting acid rain severely affect forests and lakes. Melting metal, burning coal, and vehicle emissions are major problems for the productivity of agriculture and forestry.
The most important relief
The relief of Canada, despite its enormous size, is relatively simple. It is organized around the great Canadian shield that forms the continental core of northwestern North America. This shield is formed as a large basin closed to the east by the northern section of the Appalachians, which extends into the mountains of the Labrador peninsula. These mountains have their continuation in the Baffin Bay Islands.
Economic
Agricultural products: wheat, barley, oilseeds, tobacco, fruits, vegetables; dairy products; foreign products; fish.
Major Industries: Transportation equipment, chemicals, processed and unprocessed minerals, food products, wood and paper products, fish products, oil and natural gas.
Main exports: motor vehicles and parts, industrial machinery, aircraft, telecommunications equipment; chemical products, plastics, fertilizers; wood pulp, lumber, crude oil, natural gas, electricity, aluminum.
Natural resources: iron ore, nickel, zinc, copper, gold, lead, molybdenum, potash, diamonds, silver, fish, timber, wildlife, coal, oil, natural gas, hydroelectric power.
Major imports: machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and parts, crude oil, chemicals, electricity, consumer durables
Currency: Canadian dollar (CAD)
Government of Canada
Type of government: constitutional monarchy that is also a parliamentary democracy and a federation.
Conclusion
We can say that Canada is a diverse, tolerant, peaceful and welcoming nation, known for its nature and its impressive natural beauty. It is a vast and varied country, a place worth visiting for its adventures and sophisticated culture. Canada's vibrant, multicultural cities stand in stark contrast to the untouched nature that surrounds them.
