Early Life

I was born in 1916, They described me as a American Bull Terrier.

I was found wandering the campus of Yale University in July of 1917. I stayed around as the 102nd Infantry were training. I liked to hang out in particular with Copraol James Robert Conroy. When it was time to ship out Conroy hid me on the ship and took me with them.

I served in 17 battles on the Western front in World War 1.

I first entered combat on February 5, 1918. I was under constant fire day and night for over a month! In April 1918 during a raid, I was wounded in the leg by a hand grenade. When I recovered I returned to the war field. I got injured by mustard gas, and then they had to make a special mask to fit me to prevent it from happening again.

I was able to earn many awards and meet many different people!

When I got home from the war I was in a lot of parades adn met a lot of people. I met Presidents Woodrow WIlson, Calvin Coolidge, and Warren G Harding. In 1921 I was presented with a gold medal from the Humane Eduction Society. I also became the Gerogetwon Hoyas team mascot! I was able earn many awards and oppurtunitys!
