Introduction

This is a game that shows you what it was like to live in the trenches during WWI.

Over the course of 5 days in the trench, you will have to solve problems, make risky descisions, and deal with the dangers and threats that come with living in the trench.

Day 1

Tests

Complete each test to beat the game: there is no other way to escape!

11:00 A.M.

You have just been stationed in the trenches along with hundreds of other soldiers. You have also been warned of the dangers and the uncomfortable living style while living in the trenches. So far, the trenches have been filled with a lot of boredom, and you almost want a battle to happen.

3:00 P.M.

You only have a small ration of food each day, and you are starting to get hungry. Soldiers are able to eat their rations whenever, so now might be a good time do so, especially because it will distract your mind from the constant fear of being attacked.

Test 3

Save your rations for later

Go and eat your rations

Test 4

Test 5

You chose to eat your rations

4:00 P.M.

You don't regret it in the moment, but you soon realize that not a lot of others soldiers have chosen to eat their ration now.

8:00 P.M.

Now most of the soldiers have gathered and are eating their rations. You kind of feel left out, but you did come across a soldier named Mike. Mike seems to share similar interests with you get along well with him. Not too bad for the first day in the trenches.

You chose to save your rations

4:00 P.M.

After choosing to save your rations for later, you search around to see if there is anything to do that will keep you occupied. After a while of searching you find one of the soldiers in charge and he says you can help fill the sandbags to protect the walls of the fort. This will be boring work, but at least you have something to do.

8:00 P.M.

Now you follow most of the other soldiers to get some dinner. After finishing the food you were given, you stick around to talk with some of the other soldiers, and notice a couple of other soldiers standing in the corner talking amongst themselves. They look hungry and you assume they ate their rations earlier. Good thing you waited.

It is night

9:30 P.M.

Since it is your first day, you aren't in charge of anything important for the night. This won't be the case for tommorow, so you better get some rest.

10:30 P.M.

You ran into some other soldiers on your way to bed. All of them were there for their first day too. It ended up that they have pretty much the same scedule as you for tommorow, so you got to know them and they seem pretty nice. Overall it was a pretty good first day.

Day 2

Tests

Complete each test to beat the game: there is no other way to escape!

5:00 A.M.

You wake up to a lot of noise. It seems like something happened while you were asleep. After walking around you find out that the soldiers in the opposing trench attempted a raid on your army's trench last night. Luckily, not much damage was done, but this won't stop you and the other soldiers from planning to attack back.

6:00 A.M.

You have just finished eating and have found the same group of soldiers you met last night. All of them, including you, have to spend time reparing the floorboards on the Northern end of the trench.

Day 2 (continued)

11:00 A.M.

So far, reparing the floorboards has been grueling work. While working, you hear other soldiers planning a raid on the opposing trench. This doesn't sound like a good idea because it won't be organized by the head soldiers.

3:00 P.M.

Word has spread about the raid planned by the other soldiers, and you are invited to take part in the raid. If you choose to take part in it, you could risk getting in trouble or even worse, getting injured. This could also be your opportunity to prove yourself to the other soldiers.

Wait for a more organized raid

Go on a raid tonight

You chose to wait

5:00 P.M.

You are walking over to get your rations and have made up your mind. Why risk getting injured on a raid that has little preperation when there might be a more organized raid later? Of course your army will attack back, whether it is tonight or some time in the future.

10:00 P.M.

The soldiers who have secretly planned a raid have just left and you wish them luck there wasn't more than 20 of them, but going out into No Man's Land is dangerous there could be mines and other traps hidden out of sight.

You chose to go on the raid

9:30 P.M.

You and the other soldiers going in the raid have spent time preparing and thinking out every possible situation. It is now dark enough to go out into No Man's Land. You follow the other soldiers out and into the dark. You make it a priority to stay as quiet as possible because there could be mines hid--- BOOM!!! You look to your right and see an explosion and see several soldiers fly back. They must have hit a mine. That was startling and may have given the other tranch a warning that you are near.

11:00 P.M.

You have just entered the opposing trench. Out of the 24 soldiers who came, only 17 are left. You sneak through to see what you can find when you hear yelling. You turn around and see a soldiers running towards you. It is too dark to tell if he is with you or not, so you decide to start running and hop out of the trench. You run like your life depends on it, because it does when you trip on some of the barbed wire out in No Man's Land. You hit your hear on something but you don't have time to feel it because there is a loud noise and you black out.

No Man's Land

You were blown up by a mine. Start over

Day 3

7:00 A.M.

While you are eating breakfast you hear the soldiers talking about how some soldiers went on their own raid. This must have been the raid you almost went on, and you are lucky you didn't because there were only 4 survivors. All 4 of these surviviors were kicked out of the trench.

10:00 A.M.

Today you are incharge of rapairing the barbed wire out in No Man's Land. This is probably one of the most dangerous jobs you could be assigned, so you better be careful. All you do is take coils of wire and use if to tie up of replaced damaged peices. After 3 hours of this, you hear gunshots and run back into the trench. It turned out that this was the second unanswered raid by the opposing trench. Now it is certain. There will be a raid, and you have been selected to go.

Next

Day 3 (continued)

7:00 P.M.

It is time for dinner and you have butterflies in your stomach. Your raid is starting at 10:00 P.M. and you can't stop thinking about it. Today is your last day at this trench until you will be transferred to another trench on the Western Front. To shake you mind from this, you take part in a dart throwing competition. You turn out to be really good at this and win $650.

10:00 P.M.

It's raid time. You and the 29 other soldiers selected head out of the trench and into the dark. It is estimated to take 47 minutes to reach the other trench.

The Raid

10:30 P.M.

You and the other soldiers run through No Man's Land careful to not step on any mines. When you arrive at the trench the snipers are waiting for you. You drop down and crawl into the trench. You find a room that looks important and quietly enter because nobody is inside. There is a notebook and 4 peices of stained paper. You grab these and run. You figure whatever you can get is good enough. As you are escaping the trench a sniper is firing at you. One bullet blazes past your ear. You make you way out of his range and return back to your trench. You hand over what you found and get some rest.

2:00 A.M.

You are woken up by the general. He tells you the things you stole was actually some of the other trenches most valuble information. This will help your army in planning attacks in the future. You have had a very succesful first 3 days in the trench. Good work.
