printed lesson plan & pen
Student materials used
apple ipad and pen
Google slides
science textbook
For this lesson, my students will use the least amount of supplies as possible. They will be given a school owned Ipad and pen, science textbook, and use Google Slides to make their presentation.
Timeline of Activities
2)Next, I will direct them to the Ipad station so they can get them powered on and set up for our lesson on photosynthesis. After this, they will take our their Science books and turn to chapter 13. This is the chapter that our lesson will be covering.
1) When my students walk into class after their art special, they will see on the Smart Board a slide that says, "Photosynthesis Fun!" This is indicating that it is now our Science time.
3) The students will then turn their attention to the board where I will begin our lesson. This lesson will involve the students presenting a google slide presentation to the class that is all about the process of photosynthesis.
Timeline of Activities
4) After these three steps are completed, I will begin going through my slides of the different defintions and basic knowledge of what photosynthesis is. My students will hear of the importance of photosynthesis and how all life depends upon it through short video that will be imbeded within the slides.
WATCH ME
5) After we watch this instructional video, I will then explain how the students will each create a Google Slides presentation to present to the class the next day. This will be an in class activity so it is a more fast paced assignment. This is to test their understanding of the video we watched in class and how well they listened to the process of photosynthesis.
6) My students will begin their presentation on Google Slides by using their textbook in Chapter 13 on the paragraphs talking about the process of photosynthesis. They will list out all of the steps, provide graphics imported from google or their library. They will explain in their closing paragraph how photosynthesis affects all living things and why it is important for everyone to know about. They will upload their presentation as a PDF and save it to their specific Ipad. When it is their turn to present, they will connect their Ipad to our Apple TV and share their screen and begin their slides.
By the end of this assignment, my students will have a good understanding of photosynthesis. This lesson is a preparation for the test that they will have in one week that is on this subject.
