Number Matching!!!
Kindergarten students who are learning the values of numbers compared to different numbers.
Who
This activity will show how to use creativity, problem solving, and technology skills to be able to match different numbers to identify if they are greater than, less than, or equal to
How
ISTE Standard
Common Core Standard
1.5 Computational Thinker Students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions
K.CC.6 Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g., by using matching and counting strategies

Timeline
Teacher moves on to the next slide
If incorrect, the student gets a second try
Circle the correct answer
Student walks to the board
Pick whichever the prompt is telling them to pick
If correct, sit back down and the teacher will go to the next slide
If the second try is not correct then the teacher will mark that in her rooster and the student will sit back down
Directions
On each slide there will be two different groupings. Some may be a group of five frogs next to a group of two monkeys while others can just be the number 5 and the other is 25. At the top of each slide will say to pick which number is more than, less than, or equal to. Then when a slide is shown the teacher will ask for a volunteer to circle which number is either larger, smaller, or if they are equal. Once a student either volunteers or is picked, they will walk to the board and circle which one the prompt says. If done right, they will be praised. If done wrong, then the teacher will try to explain why they picked the wrong one and let the student have one do-over. If still done wrong the second time, then the teacher will document it to make sure the teacher knows problem areas.
Assessment
Grading
I will be measuring the student's learning by if they can explain why they chose to circle the one(s) that they circled. If they can explain it well, then they do not get a mark on the rooster with the students' names. However, if they can not explain as to why they circled (like they guessed) then they get a mark (of the teachers choosing) by their name.
I will be grading on if they know which one is larger/smaller/even, how they came up to that conclusion, and if they could correctly use the promethean board pen. For the final grade it will be a total of three points and will determine how I proceed with teaching them more about the subject.
The End!
