Principle 1: Provide Multiple Means of
REPRESENTATION
- Guideline 1: Perception Clusive’s flexible display options allow students to adjust text size, line and lettering spacing, font choice, and color and contrast to fit their learning preferences.
- Guideline 2: Language and Symbols Multiple features within Clusive's design support students’ skill to decode text and promote comprehension of the material including:
- Highlighting and note-taking tools
- Knowledge and comprehension checks
- Personal word bank
- Text-to-speech
- Embedded glossary
- Language Translation
Principle 2: Provide Multiple Means of
ACTION AND EXPRESSION
- Guideline 5 Expression and communication Based on the student's prior actions and responses, books and articles can be adapted to their reading level until the student feels ready to graduate from using the support.
- Guideline 6 Executive functions Students can monitor their personal progress and view all the previous learning content they’ve accomplished.
Principle 3: Provide Multiple Means of
ENGAGEMENT
- Guideline 7: Recruiting Interest Students can choose from assigned books and articles, and further explore materials from Clusive’s growing public library to add to their own personalized libraries.
- Guideline 9: Self-Regulation At the end of each reading, Clusive encourages student self-awareness of their growing literacy skills by including reflective prompts for students to rate and explain how they feel and how much they learned.
