WHAT IS GAME BASED LEARNING?
Game-based learning is an active learning technique that uses games to improve student learning. Game-based learning can be achieved through digital or non-digital games and simulations that allow students to experience the learning firsthand.

With gaming, students can develop a creative confidence in solving problems and self-assessments of their own efforts and outcomes. There are so many different types of games and so many ways to foster creativity in game-based learning.Example: Knowledge Matters (simulation)
In game-based learning students are more likely to retain the information needed because they have made a connection to the content during the game. Example: In NearPod, you can create games and activities to check student understanding
Increases student engagement and students become more motivated in the learning process. Example: If playing a game with a leader board, students will try to stay motivated to be on the leaderboard. Also gives students something to look forard to in classes.
Feedback in games is almost constant. Immediate feedback can give a sense of accomplishment and also show students what they need to improve on to move forward in the game. Example: Creating a quiz or poll in Socrative
In most games, students are faced a task of solving issues or problems. with problems Developing real life skills, students not only learn how to problem solve, but also to utilize critial-thinking skills. Example: Minecraft,Kahoot, Evcerfi
WHY USE GAME-BASED LEARNING?
There are so many reasons and benefits to implement game-based learning. Students have the potential to gain an understanding of new content and develop new life-time skills along the way.
