AF5 - COMPARATIVE TABLE (UK vs US)

01 Introduction

The United States is a country with very marked festivities, they have varied festivities that are celebrated there as well as in many countries of the world, but in this case a comparison will be made with United Kingdom which is also a very varied country in festivities, in this work a comparison will be made between these two countries, which are very varied countries in culture, traditional comforts, etc. In addition, we will make a personal conclusion about the differences between the united states and united kingdom. We know that cultures around the world vary greatly in the way they celebrate the holidays based on their traditions. Every country has special days that are commemorated for decades from generation to generation, even events that happened in the past and are marked through history. . Celebrate a day that remembers a historical figure, the change of seasons, or a special place. The celebrations are very different from one country to another, but what remains constant is the structure: the food, the clothes, the music, the monologues and the tangible activities that make the day special. Knowing the traditions that surround the culture of the country to which we belong helps us to know what our nationality is, but it is also interesting to see other cultures that surround us. Now we will compare the great holidays of England and another country, in this case the United States, to see how these two countries celebrate them. We will see where and how to celebrate it, including desserts and meals. This makes it special because it is usually a date based on a historical event that happened in a particular place.

During the development of this activity we were able to learn about and differentiate the culture of various countries, since all of them have different customs or generally change depending on the region. It can also be seen that these festivities have a reason and an importance within the culture of each country. Although we could think that both USA and UK are and have similar customs because they have the same language, with this activity we could appreciate and study to know more about their differences in the customs of each country. With this activity we have learned about the many similarities that the UK has with the USA, and how their traditions and festivities have passed from generations to generations. With this course we can learn a little more about these differences between the countries. Thanks to this activity I learned many things about both countries to have a better knowledge of what are the cultures of other places because it is important to know both their clothes, their music, their traditions and not only focus on what we have in our country, because it is always good to know more about all countries to know their differences and expand our knowledge.

To conclude on this topic we made a comparative table between the United States and the United Kingdom, it is obvious that they are different countries but many times we do not know that despite the fact that both countries speak English, they are different pronunciations and some different words, but they also have similarities. This means that you shouldn't overly worry about using the correct word in each dialect. People will understand you regardless of whether you are using the British or American word to designate something. The one thing to keep in mind, however, is the importance of consistency, particularly in writing. If you choose to write using American English, make sure that the spelling, vocabulary and grammar are consistent with the dialect you have chosen to use. This is of crucial importance, especially in formal writing, such as in reports, letters and email

In conclusion, the activity was very interesting because we looked for the different ways of celebrate a festivity between countries with different cultures and customs including how are the people, places, seasons and everything that encompasses as a gastronomy, clothing, music or activities. Each of the countries has different traditions on the same holiday, in gastronomy, this may be due to the location of the country and there are customs such as food or clothing. The coexistence between family or loved ones to celebrate a historic day is exciting as A party allows us to prepare exquisite meals, amazing costumes for dances, parades, etc. or simply for the occasion; each culture has its customs in it its most sacred celebrations that allows them to continue celebrating those events that have passed for years but left a imprint on the lives of many generations.

This activity was about an interactive table from the United Kingdom and the United Sates that was very interesting because there are a lot similitudes about the celebrities but some that don´t celebreate by the same way. This comparative table help me to know about the celebrities of others countires With this information we could know about how different are the traditions for these two countries, even if in some days is the same tradition the way of celebrate is different like in cristhmas or new year. I think that is interesting search on internet or newspapers about differents countries to have more knowledge of traditions around the world

With this activity we can conclude with a better learning about the differences between each country. It was observed that just because English is spoken in both countries does not mean that they are heard or pronounced the same, each of these countries has its own way of speaking the language. When a person wants to speak in English, the first thing they should do is make sure that they speak English, British English or Erica, because there can be various confusions when wanting to express an idea. But the differences are not only about that, the customs and traditions of the same change a lot. Just because both countries have similarities does not mean that they will be completely the same.

In conclusion, festivities are celebrated all over the world, but they all become different from each other, leading to have different festivities of the country or festivities that are celebrated almost everywhere in the world. In this activity a comparison was made about the festivities specifically in the united states and united kingdom, where it can be observed that they have different festivities, although many are similar festivities, for example Christmas. In addition, they have a different culture, different types of typical foods, etc. It is exciting to see the different and equal festivities that there are in two countries so different but so similar to each other, which share a common language.

Well, to carry out this activity, first of all we had to soak up some information about the United Kingdom and the United States, since these two cultures were already different, it was evident that the celebrations would be different in some way, but we were able to note that there are others that are obviously not celebrated on both sides, in addition to the fact that each culture, city or even among the same communities use new customs, customs or celebrations that are only from there, so to speak, from the region, although there are many others which are obviously global celebrations because they are not celebrated in the same way or on the same day everywhere. On the other hand, if we also think about the English language that is used in the different countries, it is very different, they use different words or idioms to refer to something, this makes it even more interesting, so at the end of the activity, what you most think What remains to me as learning is that not all countries are used to doing the same in a celebration or what is important for some, maybe not for others, for this it is important to be able to learn more about the culture and diversity that surrounds us all. world and in this particular case the language they share in a different way.

My conclusion about this activity is that the festivities are an important part of each region, they tell us about their culture and the way the society is, in this case I think there are many differences between the American society and the British society, although the United States was an English colony and they speak the same language, similar case with Mexico and Spain, although being a Spanish colony, Mexico has many differences in their culture. Like Mexico, the United States has differences, but they also adopted many things, in their culture, their festivities, among other things.
