The Why

The Business Problem: Partner Enablement
The Learning Gap: Dimension4
Learning Objectives:

On completion of the training the learner will be able to:

  • Describe the business need for RTLS solutions
  • Describe the technology implemented by Ubisense and Dimension4
  • Describe the functionality and operation of Dimension4 hardware
  • Create a sensor plan for a specific area of plant
  • Describe the issues that affect tag placement
  • Explain the purpose of Dimension 4 software
  • List information needed for basic system implementation with 4 sensors and 2 tags

Partners will need to become technical experts in the Dimension4 RTLS system. The system has both hardware and software components and specialist knowledge is required. Partners need to be able to explain the construction and functionaly of the hardware and use the software to deploy a real world solution. Initially the focus will be on understanding the hardware and creating demonstration solutions.

As part of strategic company growth Ubisense is focused on building successful Partner relationships to sell with and sell through. Working with System Integrators and Consultants in the manufactuing industry helps expand reach in to new markets. The function of the newly formed Partner Success team is to enable new Partners to design and sell Ubisense solutions to customers.

The How

Module Choice: Module 2
Mode: Blended Learning

The module I have focused on devleoping is Module 1: Introduction to RTLS and Dimension 4. This module is key as it is the first experience of the training the learner will have. It will set the tone for the training and the expectations of the learner. It should also entice the learner to continue with the training. The modules will all be constructed in a similar way enabling the learner to become familiar with structure, navigation and interactions of the online element

Blended Learning is the most suitable mode given the multiple constraints of the Partners particating in training and the nature of the content. Partners are from different companies, countries and time zones. Providing full face to face or synchronous training would be restrictive and limiting. Particpants are time poor and in target pressure jobs. Training therefore needs to be accessible on demand and in manageable chunks with face to face elements only when necessary.
