The setting of this book is in Boston. Lily was a collage graduate in Boston.lily was sitting on a roof top was someone came up as well and seemed very angry, he was throwing a lawn chair and then noticed lily sitting there listening to him.

the theme

I think that The theme is about emotional abuse and jealousy. when ryle noticed lily sitting on the edge of the roof he was shocked that someone saw him act like that. he started to get nervous that she was sitting on the edge and asked her to get down.

The main characters

The main character is lily.Ryle and lily talked for a little while on the roof about why they were both on the roof. lilys dad had died and ryle lost a pationt. lilys dad was abusive to her mother, everytime he did something bad to her mother or yelled at lily for two weeks he would get her whatever she wanted, and then do it again the week after.

Expasition

.lily was talking with ryle when she told him that the first time she dated a boy he was homles. and that boy was atlas.

The expasition is when lily meets ryle a neurosurgeon on the roof top of a building.

conflicts

The conflict is when ryle begens to get jealse over how much lilly cares and talks about atlas.

.lily was going to open her flower shop but was struggaling to find what colors to put inside.

rising action

The rising action is when ryle hits lily and says it was not on propose. after that lily had her daughter Emmy and filed for divorce.

climax

The climax is when ryle reads lilys diaries about atlas and he trys to sexualy assulet lily.
