CHAPTER 2: summary

This chapter is about Max in the summer living in his grandparent's basement, he named this place as his down under. He spend his time reading comics especially, but his grandparent's believe that he was at a dangerous age, that he could probably do something wrong with a slingshot. However, Maxwell said his head was vacant (without ideas). He liked the private space that he had in the basement, because he doesn't want that Gram start asking him things or having the pressure that his grandparents were watching him because of what they believed about him. Then, Max notices a moving truck going into a duplex and he saw a boy who looked like his old friend Kevin which recognized him more as Earthing, he recognized him, since he compared him to a yardstick. He also saw a woman (Fair Gwen, the woman from the daycare years ago), that in the meantime she was talking to one of the gentlemen of the move, because Freak was turning them nut.

MaxMax is characterized by being very shy and reserved, he doesn't like to live and share with so many people, but this does not mean that he is not very kind. I feel that he is butthead, so we can perceive insecurity and unconfident in himself.

FeakFreak shows us to be very fierce in different situations, he is creative and very intelligent.

Grim Grim is Max's grandfather, who is also very protective of Max due to previous experiences. He and Gram are constantly nervous about what might happen, but that also shows how much they care about Max.

Gram Gram is a very protective character, especially with Max, because he is afraid that something very unfavorable could happen to him. For that very reason, she is constantly on edge about the situations Max gets into. Still, he is very kind and shows importance to the people he loves.

Gwen There are not many internal characteristics about her, but we see that she is very kind and funny, also very careful and respectful. Apart from this, they describe her as someone externally pretty.
