A world of lies and scandals
Excess information and worldwide scandals

What is excess information as why is it a problem?
Excess information
Excess information is, matter of factly, extremely problematic. This is due to the fact that such data overload is very difficult to process when searching the internet, as well as it being nearly impossible to distinguish true from false information in the midst of so many sources.
The problem of the century...
Considering that humankind has never dealt with this problem through the centuries, people often get influenced by the wrong people without even realizing or wanting to, since they are being exposed to an endless source of media on every moment of everyday, as technology exposure is, now, a characteristic of modern life.
Excess information has become a global issue
Untrustworthy information is a global issue
As many information systems that once worked to keep the citizens up to date concerning current issues have declined credibility and quality wise, especially where radio and cable news are concerned, it appears that the focus on showing real problems has shifted to showing useless and futile news such as who a certain celebrity has recently started dating, which ends up distracting people from what is actually important.
So...
in order to keep living in a democratic society, citizens need to be informed about government related issues by trustworthy sources, instead of being exposed to false information, which often leads them to have destructive views on politics and how their country should go forward.
Impacts of excess information and fake news
These situations can enable discriminatory and inflammatory ideas to enter public discourse and be treated as fact.
Ability to affect public opinion and electoral discourse as we see in the last worldwide ethical and political scandals.
Statistics:
A recenty study has shown where we get our information from:36% website or app; 35% social media; 20% search engine; 15% news organization email, text, or alert; 9% another source; 7% a family member email or text
Excess information
There are several measures we can adopt to avoid being targets of excess information that englobes, for example, fake news.
