BIOGRAPHY

hello, my name is Yu gwan-sun, i was born in decembre, 16, 1902 and dead septembre, 28, 1920, and i grew in Chungcheong. grew ​ After the closure of the university, i returned home to Jiryeong-ri (present-day Yongdu-ri) and became more actively involved in the protest movement Together with other activists, he organized a demonstration calling for neighboring villages such as Yeongi, Chungju, Cheonan, and Jincheon and which took place on the first lunar day of March 1919 at Awunae Market at 9 a.m. About 3,000 people demonstrated,6 shouting "Long live Korea's independence!"up in Chungcheong Province. His teacher was Alice Sharp, a Western missionary who recommended him to study at the current Ewha Women's University in Seoul. In 1919, as a Ryu student at university, he witnessed the beginnings of the March First Movement, also known as the Samil Movement, one of the first peaceful resistance movements of the Korean people against the Japanese occupation. Ryu Gwansun joined a rally in Seoul on March 5. Following that demonstration, Ewha Women's University was temporarily closed by the Governor-General of Korea. Japanese police dispersed them around 1 p.m. and Ryu Gwansun was arrested along with other protesters. His parents died after being shot by Japanese police.

I'm Ryu Gwansun, also known as Yu Gwansun or Yoo Kwan-soon, I was a Korean activist who led the March First Movement against the Japanese occupation of Korea in South Chungcheong and I became the symbol of Korea's struggle for independence.
