A Compound Learning Activity (CLA) is a framework that delivers curated content to students. ​ ​ Content can be videos, readings, assessments, etc. and can be presented as a single piece of content or content arranged side by side and/or gathered in multiple pages.

One of the most widely used content presentation formats is a two column “split page” with learning material on one side and assessment on the other.

Videos, HTML5 animations, audio and images can be added to the Narrative panel of a CLA, and videos and images can be added to the assessment activity.

The CLAs can be previewed directly from MEF, so that authors, reviewers, quality assurance, and all users can see exactly how they will look to students and instructors.

CLA Authoring is the combination of Assessment Authoring and Narrative Authoring.
