Parts of Gmail

The left menu pane allows you to compose a new email, navigate to your mail, view your sent mail, and manage your labels, among other tasks. Labels allow you to organize the messages in your inbox. You can apply more than one label to any message and create new labels to organize your messages.

Clicking on either icon will take you to your Gmail inbox where all your emails are listed. The number tells you how many unread emails you have. Clicking on the Compose button will open a new email.

If you are having trouble finding an important email, you can start typing a name, email, or topic in the search box to find it.

This is where you type the email address(es) of the person(s) you are emailing. There are 3 different ways to email people:

  • Cc
  • Bcc

Make sure you type the subject of the email and use proper email etiquette!

The Gmail toolbar allows you to change font, size, formatting, the color of font and background, and more.
