When you log in, you see this dashboard
Click on Join or Join the class to go to a lesson
Click on View to complete the activities
The Classroom
The Attendee Pod
There are lots of different possible layouts of the classroom.
The attendee pod (if showing) will always have the names of people in the classroom. The teacher will be listed as the ‘host’, the students are ‘participants’.
We often do polls with students to check understanding
The Chat pod is where you type in answers or questions for everyone to see.
The Q & A pod is where your answers are private, that means only you and the teacher can see them. The pod is sometimes called 'Private Chat' or 'Chat to Teacher'
All lessons are recorded and all communication is saved by the teacher for child protection purposes.

The menu bar in the top left hand corner is important for interacting in the classroom.
You can click an icon to
- raise your hand to ask a question
- use a thumbs up to agree
- use a thumbs down to disagree
- indicate you're stepping away from your device
As well as other icons to indicate that you’re laughing or applauding.
The Classroom Pods
There are other pods which teachers will use from time to time.
The file pod gives you useful files to download for a lesson task or extra information.
The notes pod is for keeping notes or for discussions.
The web links pod is where a teacher can send you to a useful website.
There is a YouTube pod for showing videos
Your teacher can also share websites and games in another type of pod
There is even a pod for plotting graphs!
And many more...
Current Activities has all the homeworks and activities which are still available to complete

Everything you need for your studies can be reached via the purple menu bar on the left of the landing page.
Activities has all the scores for the homeworks and activities which you have completed previously
Another way of accessing lesson and homework quizzes is via Activities at the top.
The Lesson Content section is very important as all the resources for the lesson are here – you can read the lesson notes on the pdf and access fun quizzes and useful videos for some lessons.

The Current Activities link on the menu bar takes you to a page where you can see all the homeworks that are available to complete.Click View to open

Clicking the Activities link on the menu lets you view your activity score summary.
Click View on any submitted activity lets you view your marked activity and feedback given by your teachers.
Click here to view an example of the feedback
Use of Lesson Content Section
Click on the subject View button then scroll to the relevant lesson to to find the resources for that lesson

There is always a Library pdf of the lesson available
The information on each lesson is divided into various sections so that you can use the resources for catching up on lessons you’ve missed or revise topics.
There may be games and other activities listed
Canvas – home of the activities
... and you’ll arrive at our other learning platform, which stores the activities. It’s called Canvas and looks like this.
Click on the activities on your portal dashboard or via Lesson Content...

To start the quiz you click 'Take the quiz' which will then open the quiz to show the questions.

Work through all the questions – there are various types of question, such as
- true/false
- multiple choice
- matching questions
- writing text
and many more.
Try to complete the activity in one sitting if possible, though it will save your answers if you need to stop at any point.
When you've finished you need to click the submit button at the bottom.
