reported speech and commands
Start
explanation:
A reported command is an order to do something with rarely a chance of refusal. Reporting verbs for the orders and commands are: Order, shout, ask, forbid, threaten, purpose, command, tell, insist etc..
Reported speech is when we tell someone what another person said. To do this, we can use direct speech or indirect speech.Reported speech is not really difficult. It is more a matter of logic and common sense. You probably have the same concept in your own language, where you use your own words to say what somebody has said or written.
We usually introduce reported orders/commands with the verb "tell". The structure is very simple:
told + noun + to infinitive
pronoun for reported commands
structure of reported commands
Speech reports consist of two parts: the reporting clause and the reported clause.
