Welcome to My digital artefact

This digital artefact has been created as part of my dissertation project, which aims to understand how concepts like fun and play can help us reflect on the way we design online learning spaces, particularly in making those spaces more inclusive for vulnerable groups, specially for women . I hope that this artefact and the whole intervention will become a safe space for you to think critically and develop your own interactive journey.

TASK 1

Please, create a visual representation that exemplifies what an inclusive and playful online learning space is to you now.

Write here all your thoughts about this journey

Use it with caution

Let's start!

You are about to start a journey where you will encounter different provocations and challenges. These challenges are meant to be reflective exercises with no expected outcome. The provocations may include quotes from curated literature or small games that serve as a starting point to reflect on the inclusivity of online learning spaces. You will find them displayed in a linear way, but feel free to complete them in the order you like. Only press "Finish" when you are done with all of them. As I mentioned before, I expect the artefact to be a safe space to think critically where you feel comfortable to develop your own journey. Have fun, and share your thoughts!

Here we go, it is Origami time!

1.- Start with a piece of paper. Fold in half, then open 2.- Fold in half downwards 3.- Fold the corners in to the center 4.- Fold the uppermost layers up and do the same for the back. 5.- Pull the sides out and flatten 6.- Fold the front layer up and do the same for the back 7.- Pull the sides outwards and flatten 8.- Pull the top parts outwards, shaping the boat

Which mode helps you to understand better how to do the origami boat?

Do you know how to crochet or knit? Do you want to try it?

To start your project you need a yarn strand three times as long as your garment. This is, if your garment is 20 cm, take a strand 60 cm long. 1. Make a slip knot as shown in the picture. Insert a needle on the slip knot and adjust the knot to the needle. Don’t make it too tight, otherwise it will be hard to work it. With your right hand hold the yarn that comes from the yarn ball, and with the left hand hold the other strand. 2. With your right hand, make a loop with the yarn and introduce it on the needle. 3. Wrap the needle with the yarn in the left hand clockwise. 4. Pull the loop in the right hand above the needle. You just made the second stitch. Pull both strands lightly to adjust it to the needle. 5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until you have the desired amount of stitches.

Which mode helps you to understand better how to "cast on"?
