Lesson Plans

A Lesson plan is how a teacher is going to facilitate the learning process to their students (GCU Academics, 2018). * Teacher's task to show their students daily what and how they are going to learn for the day. * The lesson and objectives are posted for students to see either on a white board, wall, or digital presentation along with the goals for the day. What students should learn by the end of the lesson. * Any needed materials and supplement information should also be listed. * Activities, assignments and procedures are explained along with how student's progress will be measured (how to check for understanding).

Curriculum Mapping

Lesson Plan

Curriculum specialist and faculty members work collaboratively to create curriculum maps for the year. The focus should be on student learning and their outcomes aligned with state/national standards.

The curriculum map and pacing guide are used by teachers to develop lesson plans for the academic year. The same content standards are utilized for all teachers, but how they instruct their students is on each individual instructor.
