What is an initial assessment?
An initial assessment takes place at the beginning of the client journey. It gives you an opportunity ask questions to sensitively explore the client’s background and their current circumstances, assess risk, identify the client’s support needs, desires and interests, and explore their existing support network. Once you have this information, you can then identify appropriate safety advice and support options that you can discuss further with the client.
